The America haters.

Those who come to counter-protest UPA-Bergen stand across the street from us, both literally and figuratively. There's a core group of a few people and their "handlers," but the rest changes from week to week. It's an odd-lot bunch that maintains one commonality: except for the right of free speech, it hates anything America is or does. They hate you. If you love America and wish to preserve it in any manner whatsoever, you are a "racist." They may not know what the word means, but they know throwing it at you will shut you up, and that's the idea. Free speech for everyone that agrees with them, but everyone shut up. The young are probably genuine idealists, but the older members must know that the political system they crave has never worked and never will. After all, where there are leaders, there can be no equality. "We are all created equal, but some of us are more equal than others." George Orwell, Animal Farm.

So, you thought that the protestors wanted all flags replaced by the Earth Flag? See how wrong you can be? It's simply your flag (and, of course, everything it stands for) they want replaced. Wielders of third-world flags are always welcome in the protestors' ranks, because they have a common bond that ties them together, and you know what it is.
